Test well has been completed with promising results. Proposals are being provided for 8" and 12" well options. 8" is thought to be minimum and 12" offers more options for the future.
Packaging facility is on hold until well proposals are received. Drawings for the facility are in their final stage and will be distributed for pricing after the irrigation path has been finalized.
The pesticide building upgrades are on hold as well, until the irrigation proposals are reviewed.

The project scope includes constructing a new climate-controlled building to research innovative fresh-pack and value-added practices and technologies focused on the growing segment of the wild blueberry industry here in Maine. It will house a new fresh-pack line and walk-in cold storage for research and extension purposes to benefit wild blueberry growers. This facility will also offer training and research opportunities for graduate and undergraduate projects. U.S. Sens. Collins and King secured funding of $3 million in FY23 Congressional Directed Spending at the request of the System.
